Quebec-based magazine La Maison du 21e siecle asked physician David O. Carpenter, former founding dean of the University at Albany (NY)’s School of Public Health, to comment an open letter published in the Montreal daily Le Devoir last May 24. This letter claimed wireless smart meters pose no risk to public health. More than fifty international experts contributed to the following rebuttal.  http://maisonsaine.ca/smart-meters-correcting-the-gross-misinformation/

This article is amazing for it’s inane – ness!! It is the only thing  I have ever found announcing the arrival of the PSE smart meters, which were all installed by 2012. This article is noteworthy as, in 1999 when the article was written, the writer heralds the arrival of the “smart meter”. However, for some reason, PSE and  local city governments installing the technology,  currently insist that we do not have “smart meters”. There are many other wonderful words that have taken the place of the word “Smart meter:  AMR, wireless meters, radio wave meters… etc. So – [&hellip

EMF and Trees Magda Havas – If Wifi harms trees, what about children? http://www.magdahavas.com/if-wifi-harms-trees-what-about-children/ Why Our Urban Trees Are Dying “Electricity is carried in living organisms” Introduction Trees are now dying mysteriously from a variety of diseases in urban areas all over Europe and are also showing ab- normal photoperiodic responses. In addition, many have cancer-like growths under the bark (phloem nod- ules) and the bark may also split so that the underlying tissues become infected. All of these can be explained as being a result of weak radio-frequency radia- tion from mobile phones, their base stations, WiFi and similar [&hellip

Now I know why the City of Renton is pushing installations of Smart Meters.  The following is from Cantwell’s Press release for the Energy bill in 2008. Cantwell authored the smart grid title of the 2007 Energy Bill which established a $100 million annual smart grid research and development and demonstration program and required federal officials to establish a smart grid interoperability framework to ensure all these new technologies work seamlessly together.  These smart metering tax credits have long been a priority for Cantwell, who first introduced relevant legislation in 2001. http://www.cantwell.senate.gov/news/record.cfm?id=303471  Senator Cantwell Secures New Tax Credits for Smart [&hellip

The following is a direct quote from  B. Blake Levitt’s 1995 book Electromagnetic Fields  about the bioeffects of radio frequencies.  It is only one paragraph out of many pages where she discusses bioeffects.  I am quoting the paragraph because it is such a well written synopsis of effects of RF and also because of the stark contrast (see discussion of SoCalGas Fact sheet, for example) to the claims by the utility companies that there are no effects. From Electromagnetic Fields, by B. Blake Levitt: In humans, EMFs in various frequencies have been found to adversely affect calcium binding at the cell surface, DNA synthesis, and [&hellip

The Citizens of Renton request that the Renton Council direct the Utilities Department to put a MORATORIUM on future installations of Smart Meters on our water lines and stop (RF) radio transmissions until further research has been completed. Since the installation of Smart Meters on our water lines OUR BIRDS HAVE GONE Smart Meters have been associated with Health hazards, but another danger from (RF) radio frequency transmissions may be from the signals they give off while reporting their data to the central utility office. Birds navigate by olfaction and echolocation and are affected by RF radio signals. OUR BIRDS [&hellip

Here is a wonderful list of wireless household items and practical alternatives you can use to reduce your exposure to wireless radiation. There are a few things I would add: avoid the “Good to Go” scanners on the 520 bridge – use I 90 for now – and write the city to protest the imminent installation of scanners on I 90.  avoid touching the point of sale credit card scanners being used in many stores http://www.emfwise.com/precautions.php
