June 17, 2013 Karen Nold P.O. Box 1461 Snoqualmie, WA 98065   PCC Natural Markets 4201 Roosevelt Way N.E. Seattle, WA 98105-6092 Dear PCC Board of Trustees, I have been a proud PCC member since about 1996 and I appreciate my monthly Sound Consumer with its plentiful and pertinent information. I admire and support PCC’s approach to build community, serve members, care for the environment, and provide for its employees with PCC’s childhood nutrition initiative, getting rid of plastic bags, working on reusable produce cartons, and being the first to pledge no sales of genetically engineered fish if it’s approved [&hellip

Please forward this letter to the appropriate departments. I am planning to purchase a refrigerator and have always thought highly of your products. While doing a search, I came across this letter regarding the new energy star requirements. https://www.energystar.gov/products/specs/sites/products/files/Sub-Zero%20Comments.pdf I was wondering if you knew that high frequency radiation as used by the smart grid has not been proven safe. In fact there are well over 1000 peer reviewed research studies that are indicate that the smart grid radiation will human health and the balance of the natural world. In the book Electromagnetic Fields (356-357), B. Blake Levitt wrote: “In [&hellip

A search on PubMed for “cell phone radiation” yielded 1,051 published papers from 1993 through 2012.  Since 2006, PubMed has indexed 100 or more papers per year.  This underestimates the actual number of peer-reviewed studies as PubMed does not index every professional journal, and my search was a limited one. Nonetheless, one might think that with so many peer-reviewed studies, we would have greater consensus within the scientific community about the effects of cell phone radiation by now. However, industry involvement may have increased the quantity of research at the expense of quality. Our meta-analysis of the case-control studies on [&hellip

http://www.utc.wa.gov/consumers/Pages/ComplaintSubmitted.aspx would be our version of the Public Service Commission? I lodged a complaint in no uncertain terms using this language: This is a formal complaint against the installation of smart meters on  my home including water and electric. They are proven to damage health–the World Health Organization calls them a Class 2B Carcinogen in the same class as lead, diesel, chloroform, and HIV. They are a proven surveillance tool http://blog.sfgate.com/energy/2013/06/20/is-your-smart-meter-spying-on-you/ They can be easily hacked and also have caused 1000 house fires. They send personal data to third parties: insurance companies, manufacturers, and corporations. They are proven to save no energy, the [&hellip

Gigabit Seattle’s goal is to build out fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and fiber-to-the-business (FTTB) in 14 demonstration neighborhoods, connected together with the excess capacity that Gigabit Seattle will lease from the City’s own fiber network. The bottom line is that Gigabit Seattle’s technology, will be offering gigabit speeds that are 1000 times faster than the typical high-speed connection. To provide initial coverage beyond those 14 demonstration neighborhoods, a gigabit broadband wireless umbrella will be built to cover the City providing point-to-point wireless access up to a gigabit. This wireless coverage will provide network and Internet services to customers that don’t have immediate access [&hellip

Economic Times (PTI), Jun 14, 2013 Government has called for research proposals to study the possible impact of electromagnetic frequency radiation on humans and living organisms. NEW DELHI: Amid concerns over radiation from cell phone towers, government on Friday called for research proposals to study the possible impact of electromagnetic frequency radiation on humans and living organisms. The call for proposals by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) comes in the wake of conflicting reports on the impact of cell tower radiation with a section claiming that it caused illness including cancer while others saying that there was no definitive finding to support it. Biological Effects from RF Radiation at Low-Intensity Exposure, based on the BioInitiative 2012 Report, and the Implications for Smart Meters and Smart Appliances, June 5, 2013 Ronald M. Powell, downloadable from SCRBD Physicist, Ronald M. Powell (Ph.D., Harvard University, 1975) explains, in lay terms, the implications of the BioInitiative 2012 Report for Smart Meters and Smart Appliances. He compares the low RF power density levels at which biological effects were reported in the RF Color Charts in the Report to the calculated RF power density levels that Smart Meters and Smart Appliances can produce. This comparison shows that Smart Meters and Smart Appliances [&hellip
